  2. Erica says:

Does Shaheeb have a strategy in place to market this concept to local community services and universities?

  3. Shaheeb says:

    Hi Erica,

So far through the project I have been engaging on an individual level and attempting to leverage each person’s social network to get the word out about the project and drum up participation.

These conversations have led to people involved with leadership in business communities and others with extensive personal contacts.

The only community services focused group I have been exploring a partnership with is Bucketworks (http://www.bucketworks.com).

I will tell you that one of the value-based goals of this project is to make this web infrastructure available to students in neighborhoods and communities that don’t currently have consistent access to the internet.

In a nutshell, the primary strategy at this phase is to raise awareness of the project, and seed the initial network with enough nodes and bandwidth to make it a contender in the city. Next steps will be to engage with specific neighborhoods/communities/groups/causes to discuss how this network can benefit them, and what it will take to make that happen.

Whew! That was a long one, and I hope it begins to answer your question. Keep in touch!

    Shaheeb R.

Shaheeb thanks for answering peoples questions I see this taking off in Milwaukee for sure.

  5. You want to be careful when you shoot with windows/light behind the subject. You can make it work if you have natural light hitting the subject from the front, but mixing natural and artificial light can be tricky. (reflectors can be useful.)

  6. Blake says:

Thanks for the tip Pete. Since lighting and other production elements aren’t our core competency, we’re always looking for suggestions.

  7. Hi, you know a fivcon would make your website even more exclusive. Just google it.
