Thanks for the tip Pete. Since lighting and other production elements aren't our core competency, we're always looking for suggestions.

I agree with Jeramey's lighting comment. Are you using lights? If you don't have some, get some. Do a little research on cinematography for some lighting tips. It will go a long way in making things look better/more professional.

Better lighting next time. Oh, and how do I call you at an email address?

I dig it though, keep working on it.

Outstanding. Al, you have a compelling story and your presentation has got me thinking about what I can or want to do with some of the ideas swirling around.

Now I do have a couple of questions for you:

- Marketing research and traditional marketing plans are all based on empirical data: how many impressions, how many conversions... basically stuff that can be measured, fed into CBAs etc. Branding on the other hand (I think) has the impression that it has a softer value: how do people feel about your company, do they share your values etc.
What is your ace in the hole pitch to make a case for a brand strategy in lieu of a more traditional marketing campaign like direct marketing etc.

- Can you share any stories about successful branding you've seen in recent time? For me the pets.com sock puppet comes to mind because I just recently read a story by the former CEO discussing her new startup and how she had to work very hard to shake the association with that very ingrained (and massively failed) brand. (interesting read at http://www.smartnow.com/page/5991 )

Oh, and Ryan and Blake: you guys are really fine tuning your chemistry on camera. Keep it up!
